Destination RV Park Reopens After Renovations

FORT MYERS, Fla., December 20, 2020— Southwest Florida’s longtime RV destination park, Shady Acres, kicks off its 2020 season with a host of improvements. From new activities in the common recreation areas to upgraded campsite utilities in the 7 Acres section, the park is welcoming guests back to a new vacation experience.

“Shady acres didn’t just get a facelift,” says park owner Ray Perrine, “it has been completely revamped from the bottom up.”

The owners embarked on the extensive project at the request of their customers. As a family-owned business, they embrace the importance of being a positive influence to their community and their guests.

“Our customers told us that we weren’t up to par, and we weren’t okay with letting them down,” Perrine says. It took two years, and many hundreds of man hours, but we are finally ready to show off phase one of the new Shady Acres, and welcome back our yearly guests along with many new faces.”

The list of improvements on this phase are extensive. For the 7 Acres RV sites, there’s new electric, sewer, picnic tables, and upgraded wifi and drainage systems. In the common areas, there’s a new swimming pool and jacuzzi, with lifts for guests with disabilities. There’s also the new Shady Meadow pavilion, with two gazebo sitting areas, fire pits, corn hole and chess. The recreation hall got a new roof and decor, and there’s even new pool furniture, dog park equipment and bingo.

Beyond the material changes, the park has refocused its commitment to customer service, an endeavor that includes an all-new management and staff.

“Our slogan is ‘where guests become friends, and friends become family,’” Perrine says. “We really mean that. We want to do everything we can to ensure Shady Acres is the backdrop for the brightest and most cherished family vacation memories.”

In addition to the upgrades, the park’s existing amenities include: full hookup sites with 30 and 50 amp power, a large clubhouse with board games and a library, mail services, pet waste stations throughout the park, horseshoes, shuffleboard, bathhouse, modern laundromat, fenced dog park, giant chess board, and, of course, hammocks to laze away the peaceful Florida days.

More upgrades are in the works, once it’s safe to restart construction, including a fitness center, new pads and landscaping in 7 Acres, and upgraded electric for rest of the park.
